The Office of the Chief Financial Officer (OCFO) had a productive FY2024. I am deeply grateful to our dedicated team for their contributions to our many accomplishments, enabling us to successfully navigate several transitions:
- We welcomed new leadership, including myself as the Chief Financial Officer (CFO), Edna Annis as the Deputy CFO, and Diane Hutchinson as the Chief Procurement Officer (CPO). Our organization chart and additional information about our organization are available on the this website.
- We established a new “One OCFO” strategic framework focused on collaboration, integration, and enhanced stakeholder partnerships.
- We supported a high number of external audits, including those stemming from the DOE Office of the Inspector General (OIG) transition from the former Cooperative Audit Strategy to its Incurred Cost Review strategy.
- We successfully transitioned several key service vendors, such as travel services and banking services. These services are all critical to the smooth operations of the Laboratory.
- We relocated OCFO from an offsite location in Emeryville to a smaller footprint location on the Laboratory’s main campus. This move will save the Laboratory approximately $1.5M annually through the elimination of the offsite location lease.
Moving forward, we will prioritize initiatives that support our strategic framework, with a particular focus on career development and learning. We remain committed to supporting external audits and reviews, including the upcoming Procurement Evaluation and Reengineering Team (PERT) review and the triennial Personal Property Assessment. We are excited to continue our work in support of the Lab’s mission of delivering “Science Solutions for the World.”
